mPDF privacy policy

Last updated: November 5, 2026. mPDF is provided by MCODE, Croatia. Contact: hello@mcode.hr.

Your documents

mPDF processes imported PDFs, filenames, folder names, reading history, bookmarks, annotations, form entries, thumbnails, attachments and voice notes on your device. The app does not automatically upload document content to MCODE or Firebase. It does not require an mPDF account. PDF JavaScript is disabled. Text-to-speech uses your device's speech facilities and available voices; the behavior of a voice supplied by your operating system is governed by that provider.

Sharing, printing and exporting happen when you choose them. The recipient app, printer, cloud drive or other destination receives the files you select under its own terms. Your operating system may back up app data according to your device settings. “Local” does not mean exported files, OS backups or devices you share are outside all other providers' control.

Preview and subscriptions

The seven-day app preview starts automatically when you first open mPDF. Start and last-observed times are stored locally to determine access. They are not included in portable library backups. The preview requires no card, creates no subscription and never charges automatically.

When subscription services are enabled in the app, RevenueCat checks subscription status, including for users who have not purchased. If you purchase, Apple or Google processes payment; mPDF does not receive your full payment-card details. RevenueCat processes purchase records, an anonymous app customer identifier, subscription status and technical information needed to operate the subscription service. We use these records to provide and restore access, resolve purchase problems and understand subscription performance. We do not configure advertising identifiers, cross-app advertising tracking, custom identity attributes or marketing integrations in mPDF. RevenueCat may process data outside your country, including the United States, under its applicable service terms and data-protection arrangements. See https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy and your store's privacy information.

RevenueCat also retains country-level information for subscription analytics. It uses the transaction country when available and can derive a country from the IP address used to connect to its service. RevenueCat states that it discards the raw IP address after determining the country. This is approximate country information, not GPS or precise device location; mPDF does not request location permission. The country is associated with the anonymous subscription-service record, not an mPDF login account. See RevenueCat customer-data documentation.

Permissions and support

Microphone access is requested only when you choose to record a voice note. You can decline and continue reading. The file picker gives access to documents you select; no phone, contacts, location or broad-storage permission is required for reading.

If you email hello@mcode.hr, MCODE receives your email address and the information you choose to provide to answer your request. Avoid attaching confidential documents. Support messages are retained as needed to resolve requests and meet applicable legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized.

Control, retention and deletion

Documents remain in the app until you delete them or remove the app. Trash retains files until permanent deletion. Save a separate backup before deleting the app. Exported copies and operating-system backups must be managed at their respective destinations. Permanent deletion is not a promise of forensic secure erasure. An iOS preview eligibility record may survive app reinstallation in Keychain; persistence is not guaranteed across every OS or device condition.

You can request help with subscription-record access or deletion at hello@mcode.hr. We may need purchase/customer details to identify the correct record and verify the request. Store transaction records remain subject to Apple or Google's retention requirements. Deleting service records does not itself cancel a subscription; cancel through your store settings.

For personal data MCODE receives, purposes include providing requested services and support, legitimate interests in service reliability and purchase administration, and complying with legal obligations where applicable. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability, and may complain to the competent data-protection authority. These rights depend on the data and circumstances; local documents that MCODE never receives are managed on your device.

Website and changes

The separate policy/support website uses Firebase Hosting to deliver these pages. Google processes request IP addresses for delivery, abuse prevention and usage analysis, retaining IP data for a few months. We do not add advertising, analytics scripts or account forms to these pages. This does not add a Firebase SDK or document sync to mPDF. See Firebase privacy information.

Updates to this policy will carry a new effective date. Contact MCODE at hello@mcode.hr with privacy questions. mPDF is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. It remains a local document tool without an mPDF account or sign-in requirement. A store's content age rating describes content suitability and is separate from this intended audience.

For information MCODE receives directly in support requests, retention depends on resolving the request, related disputes and applicable legal obligations. You may contact us about the information we hold. Data-protection concerns can also be raised with the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP).
